The South Arkansas Arts Heart in El Dorado has introduced the manufacturing staff for “Metal Magnolias,” set for performances in June.
The staff, led by director Tripp Phillips, features a wide-ranging group of theatre professionals with robust ties to SAAC, proficient amateurs, and energetic members of the SAAC Theatre Steering Committee who will come collectively deliver the world of Chinquapin, Louisiana to life on the stage.
Aiding Government Director Laura Allen is Scotty Cain, who will probably be serving because the assistant director, manufacturing stage supervisor, and co-costume coordinator. An El Dorado native and longtime SAAC veteran, Cain has lived and labored in Los Angeles and New York Metropolis,
working within the wardrobe departments of many main Broadway exhibits, together with “Moulin Rouge,” “Hamilton,” and “Bullets Over Broadway.” Working alongside Scotty backstage will probably be stage supervisor Rhett Davis, who spends his days because the workplace supervisor of ArtAttack! Graphic Design.
Scenic design will probably be headed by Selby Souza, a New York- and San Francisco-based scenic designer. At the moment she is the set dresser for the Academy of Artwork College’s Faculties of Leisure positioned in San Francisco.
El Dorado’s personal Shawn Dartez is the manufacturing’s grasp carpenter, translating Selby’s imaginative and prescient into actuality; Richard Wharton serves as set dresser; and Katy Callaway Hayes is the set portray supervisor.
El Dorado native Regan Dodson will function the present’s lighting designer.
The present’s poster and graphic identification have been crafted by Philip Tommey, a long-time member of the SAAC household, who’s presently a contract graphic designer and web developer in Chicago.
Sound designer Jacob George is a 16-year veteran of the SAAC stage, and has been integral to a variety of productions, each onstage and within the technical sales space.
SAAC legend Mary Egerer, who has contributed to nearly 80 productions, will probably be co-costume coordinator and as assistant to the director.
Hair and wig supervision will probably be offered by Kati Blanchard and Brandi Lyons, of Potentialities Salon.
Felice Lamoreux and Susan Smith have taken on the problem of property supervision on this prop-heavy and time-period-specific present.
