Taiwan says China exploiting vaccines for political gain

TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) — Taiwan’s overseas minister says China is searching for political beneficial properties overseas in return for offering coronavirus vaccines, partly to extend strain on Taiwan, which it claims as its personal territory. Joseph Wu says Beijing’s Communist Celebration leaders “exploited the pandemic to impose their political agenda on many others.” Particularly, he says, China’s “vaccine diplomacy” is creating divisions amongst nations in Central and South America, giving Beijing a possibility to exert its affect within the Western Hemisphere. He says Beijing is offering entry to its domestically produced vaccines, different anti-coronavirus sources and growth funding to “those that are prepared to simply accept political partnership with Beijing.”
